Geltrude Jr. obviously had a vision of grandeur here, with family’s antique furniture nicely associated to more contemporary elements, which take you back to another era without sacrificing the comfort of a modern b&b. It all feels regal here– think breakfast served in the marvelous nonna’s porcelains and rare silver cutleries. The six rooms and the one apartment are spacious and welcoming, each with large modern bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds. Also a gem is the mini spa set in the palazzo’s former stable, a little piece of heaven making this surreal place even more unique.

Their motto “Research into the beautiful” could not be more adequate when thinking of this ancient palazzo from the 1500, located half way between the Lecce movida and one of the few remaining intact areas of the old town. A little piece of heaven where guests fall in love with this “lifestyle design hotel’s” domestic feel with an unpretentious luxurious approach.The nine among rooms and suites, as well as in the communal spaces, are beautiful decored with catchy pieces of details of consistent art. Tenuta Vigna Corallo, Otranto
This is the only vinery by the sea in Salento, a young establishment producing a wine whose unique character is also transported in the lovely resort built among the extensive vineyards. Just a walk from the Baia dei Turchi – one of the most spectacular beaches in the region – Tenute Corallo consists of eleven apartments – all with a private outside patio overlooking the vineyards – and a vast communal area dominated by the extensive pool, a fine restaurant and a bar. The rooms are spacious and offer enough privacy, not too glamurous still nice and new. Of course wine takes the scene here, so expect big wine tastings, glasses a go-go and visits to the vineyards. The lucky September guests could take part to the harvest too. Amazing place, nice and unpretentious, so far highly recommended.
