ORTO DELL’IDRO | Otranto
Hailing from Ferrara, Italy, former architect Silvia Neri ended in Otranto all the way from NYC – where in winter she teaches yoga at Central Park- to build her dream Permaculture garden. She took a beautiful piece of land just a short walk from the city center and turned it into an enchanted meadow where everything is organic and genuine. Spring to late summer Silvia hosts small group retreats where she takes the international guests on a genuine Salento journey through serious yoga classes, connection with nature and the territory, and a whole spirit of sharing in conviviality
CASA DI YOGA | Salice
Set in north Salento between Salice Salentino and the notorious Punta Prosciutto bay, this retreat is conceived for slow travelers, curious people, stargazers and people realizing that less is more. A nice project apparently very well appreciated from the many international guests that keep it busy spring to autumn. Guests stay at a typical masseria among vineyards with pool and fine amenities, while meditations take place at various amazing locations. Very good indeed

AT THE AIA | Nardò
At her pretty countryside b&b near the natural park of Porto Selvaggio, New York native Giulia Stasi hosts good stay-in yoga retreats with various teachers on rotation. Besides the yoga she has now started a home restaurant that is one of a kind. The Aia is also a hub for a number of multicultural locals and expats, thus it is great for socializing in peace and harmony
YIS @ SAHAMADI | Zollino
Popular among an “enlightened” international clientele, Samhadi is a Salento landmark for those into the holistic lifestyle. Rooms and apts. are proper simple and fine, the garden is wonderful, the macrobiotic restaurant amazing, and the yoga sessions of the highest quality. Retreats attract groups of 30-40 people
